Faith, Callie & Agnes :: DC Pet Photographer

Normally when I do a session with cats and dogs, the cats are more challenging to photograph. This session was a little different though. In this case, Faith the English Mastiff was a bit shy but her sibling cats Callie and Agnes were as friendly as could be. Callie took a particular liking to my camera, as you’ll see below.

We met at the park so Faith could get used to me before heading back home. Faith is a gentle giant and by the end of the session she even took some treats from me, which is a big deal for her. Here is a peek into their lives.

Rome :: Downs Park Dog Beach

I’ve been so anxious to share this session! You might remember Rome’s story from this year’s Unconditional Love Contest.  Although there were some great entries, as soon as I read Kori’s heartfelt submission, I knew I wanted to photograph this dog and capture Kori and Matt’s relationship with their baby. Rome loves the beach, so we decided to meet at Downs Park Dog Beach in Pasadena, MD. Rome was in his element, and every bit the playful, loving boxer I read about.

If anyone doubts that pets are like children, I point them to this picture. There’s something about it that I love. Mom and Dad fussing over the outfit, Rome with a slightly embarrassed look on his face (like he’s thinking, “Aww jeez, do I really have to wear the hat?!?”).Another favorite…
