FidoJournalism’s Stephen Bobb Profiled in Washington Post Express

A few months ago a writer for the Washington Post Express contacted me about a story about, well, my story. As in how I changed careers from working in a nonprofit organization to becoming a full-time professional photographer in just a few short years. (Of course, I was on vacation while the article came out in the paper, which is why I’m just blogging it now!)

To be honest, I can be resistant to change, and everything happened much quicker than I ever planned, but I feel very blessed to have been able to make the transition. I could not have done it without the education I received at the Washington School of Photography, and the real-world experience from my mentor Jennifer Domenick.

FidoJournalism Album Chosen as Book of the Week

I was honored to learn that an album I designed for Mikey, Jersey and Madison’s dog photography session was selected by my album company as its “Book of the Week.”

This was a great affirmation because I believe that taking the photos is only part of the process. I want to deliver pieces of art to my clients, so they walk away from the FidoJournalism experience with something tangible to hold precious images of their beloved animals. Albums are a popular option, in addition to archival prints and canvas gallery wraps. I think I’ll always be more photographer than graphic designer, but it’s nice to be recognized for my album layout.
