Rugby :: Black Lab

Rugby is the sweetest black lab you’ll ever meet. And she is ALL retriever. All she wanted to do was chase squirrels, chase toys and chase tennis balls. So that’s what we did for her portrait session!

Meet Rugby. She loves to look out the window, watching for something to chase.

Looking very regal…

If it’s not the front window, it’s the back gate, where the squirrels taunt her from the other side.

Getting some love from mom…

She’s doing very well with her training!

Still watching for those squirrels…

The only thing better than chasing squirrels is a peanut butter Kong!

Then we went across the street to the tennis courts where Rugby likes to play fetch. I think she was wondering why all those humans were hitting her chew toys with rackets…

It was overcast and a little dreary, but the blue court really added some nice color.

I always look for little details that show clients’ devotion to their pets. This doormat says it all. In fact, after our shoot I was exhausted, but Rugby was headed out to the dog park for some more fun!

Liz - Hi there – My mom actually bought the doormat as a gift for me at a booth at a horse show, so unfortunately I can’t give the name of any major retailers that have the mat. I did a quick google search, however, and there are a few for sale on ebay and some other vending sites. Sorry that I can’t be more specific!
By the way, a quick plug: Rugby was a rescue dog that I got from Lab Rescue of L.R.C.P. Inc. — a great rescue group for labs!
