Fashion for Paws Recap, Part 1 :: The Vendors

Saturday was the 3rd annual Fashion for Paws event to benefit the Washington Humane Society. I have so many pictures from this event to post that I’ve decided to break it up into two posts. I’ll make you wait a day on the runway show images, and first show you some of the sponsors who helped this event become a major success. WHS smashed their target goal and raised over $200,000, which will ensure vital new programs for the animal population in the DC area.

Pulling off an event like this is a massive effort involving many, many people. I wanted to highlight a few of the individuals and sponsors who helped make it happen.

For the past two years, Italian Ambassador Giovanni Castellaneta and Mrs. Lila Castellaneta have graciously hosted the event at the beautiful Italian Embassy in Washington, DC.0229

Now this is what I’m talking about. I think I spent as much time photographing the Hello Cupcake table as I did photographing the dogs. And being the responsible “journalist” that I am, I felt it was my duty to try several to make sure they were as good as they looked. (Yup, they were).00122

Come back tomorrow to see images from the fashion show, including the latest in doggy couture from our good friends at Barkley Square Gourmet Dog Bakery & Boutique. You won’t want to miss it!

Jamie - god Stephen these are *fantastic*. I am so impressed with how you got such clear and emotive indoor event shots. I don’t know what your secret is but it works! And that maserati- is that your new ride? ;-) I’m glad you knew that you had a duty to sample the cupcakes. I think that is an unwritten law for journalists. (hee hee)
