What’s better than one Golden Retriever puppy photo session? How about two Golden Retriever puppy shoots in one week! I am one happy dog photographer. I have to warn you now, I totally loved this session and had a hard time narrowing down my blog images. So keep reading only if you want to see lots of lifestyle portraits of the amazingly sweet Elsa. It didn’t take long to realize that she is one special dog. I was really trying to figure out a way to stash her in my camera suitcase, to no avail.
We hit some great DC locations for this session, starting at the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry building, where Elsa likes to play and practice her obedience training. From there we headed down to the Mall, another of Elsa’s favorite spots. The monuments provided a wonderful backdrop for portraits. Living near Washington, DC, it’s easy to take it for granted, but it’s really a beautiful place to live (and to do pet photography!).
Megan, thank you! Elsa is a wonderful dog. I hope your husband likes the images.
Meet Elsa…

At the Freemasons building…

Then down to the Mall…

Elsa is very inquisitive. Here she is carefully watching a flock of birds…

I had to brace myself for an onslaught of Elsa love…
And here she wanted to bring me her octopus, one of the coolest dog toys I’ve seen. (The octopus would last about 2 seconds in our house.)
How’s this for a dog park?

I love this shot because it’s so Elsa. She can be a little stubborn when it comes to walking on the leash.

A little dip in the Reflecting Pool…
