For as long as I’ve been a dog photographer, I’ve been longing to take pictures of a Great Dane. I love big dogs and I’ve always had a thing for Danes. I finally got my wish with Astraux’s session. I love that we were able to capture her doing her favorite things: playing fetch at the field and taking a long walk around the lake. Here are a few of my favorites from our session:

I couldn’t decide which of these two I like better. Which do you prefer?
Love the silhouettes! Great composition on both, tough to choose for sure. I prefer the vertical and the way that Astraux is lovingly looking at her owner. There is a little more sky in the vertical than I would like, but the trees in the lower portion on either side nicely frame the family without being overpowering. The clear water above the silhouette draws my eye to the family perfectly. Astraux is an adorable Dane!
I like the bottom silhouette. Looks like he has found a duck.
