An Afternoon at the Dog Park

It’s been awhile since we took Jingles and Cooley to the dog park, so when we had a free afternoon and beautiful weather the other day, we decided it was time. This also was Ryan’s first trip to the dog park. He seemed a little upset if a dog passed by and did NOT try to lick him.

I’m a little jealous after seeing some beautiful looking dog parks from my West Coast photographer friends. Our park is a nice, big fenced area, but it’s kind of boring visually. Lots of gravel, which is good for, well, lots of dogs running around peeing everywhere, but not so pretty for pictures. Oh well, at least there was some nice afternoon light.

As usual, Jingles and Cooley stick together even when there are lots of new friends to play with.

I also shot a few of the other dogs in the park.Dog PhotographyDog Photography

This guy had a prime spot.

Jingles gets a taste of his own medicine.

Ryan says, “I’ve seen enough. Take me home please.”

October 10, 2008 - 9:49 pm Mia - My gosh! Check out all those discarded tennis balls. Zoe would go nuts!

October 10, 2008 - 11:05 pm erin - The ball shot is genius. I love that! Pure art.

October 11, 2008 - 1:12 am Julie - I agree with erin, I love the ball shot. I went to the dog park recently and took some photos. Maybe because it was my first time, but it was a bit challenging! You make it look so easy!

October 20, 2008 - 6:04 am Tamandra - Another vote for the ball shot :) That's the kind of thing that draws my attention sometimes. And the cute kids. It's such fun hanging out with a camera in a dog park, eh?

October 21, 2008 - 5:15 pm Rachel - I am also jealous of the west coast dog parks. I love the shot of the tennis balls!!

October 22, 2008 - 11:28 am Craig - Dog parks are so much fun. Great shots!

October 22, 2008 - 4:12 pm claire - oooh, the tennis ball photo is fab!

October 23, 2008 - 11:10 am Grace - That ball shot blew me away too. I also love the photo of the spaniel framed in the corner of the shot. Lovely.

November 6, 2008 - 4:17 pm jamie - this post just goes to show that a talented professional can take any location and make it look interesting and beautiful. no need for fancy parks or pretty backdrops or a gorgeous home- with some raw talent and a little bit of imagination you can produce awesome shots anywhere! :-)
