Welcome to the FidoJournalism Blog

Thank you for stopping by the FidoJournalism blog. If this is your first time here, I'm a pet photographer serving Maryland, DC and Northern Virginia. My style is natural and candid to capture your pets' true personalities. I'll be posting images from recent sessions, upcoming event info, as well as personal stuff once in awhile.

Please bookmark the main blog page, or subscribe to our feed. If you enjoy a post, you can easily share it with friends. At the bottom of each post, you will see a Share This icon that will let you share the post via your favorite social networking site, or email the post to a friend.

Lastly, I love to read your comments and see who is visiting, so don't be shy about leaving me a message if you like what you see.

Thanks and enjoy!

Upcoming Events for Dogs

The DC area is blessed to have so many dog lovers and, in turn, so many events for dogs.  Here are a few upcoming events, both of which I attended last year and had a blast:

Strut Your Mutt - Bethesda, MD (be sure to stop by the FidoJournalism booth!!!)
Saturday, May 17
http://strutyourmuttbethesda.org/

The 3rd annual Strut Your Mutt Dog Parade and Festival is set to take place on Saturday, May 17, 2008 in downtown Bethesda, MD. Organized and sponsored by the Bethesda Chevy Chase Rotary Club, past years have brought together over 3,000 participants and more than 400 dogs for a day of fun.

21st Annual Bark Ball - Renaissance Hotel, Washington, DC
Saturday, June 17, 7pm
http://www.washhumane.org/barkball.asp

The Washington Humane Society’s Bark Ball is an established Washington tradition. The formal soirée includes a renowned silent auction, a seated dinner, and live entertainment – with a unique twist that makes this a one-of-a-kind event. Guests are encouraged to bring a canine’s as their date!

Here are some photos from last year’s Bark Ball:

If you know of any other great events in the area, feel free to leave a comment with the info.

May 7, 2008 - 12:14 am Jamie Pflughoeft - So awesome! I totally need to talk the big shelters in Seattle into letting folks bring their dogs to their black tie events! Heck, I might even spring for a ticket if I can bring the Fergs.
